Alternative medicine, or complementary treatment, is the use of non-conventional medical treatment for curing illness and includes practices that incorporate spiritual, metaphysical, or religious underpinnings. Though in practice since time unknown, alternative medicine is continuously evolving around the world. Today, there are almost 500 types of alternative medical treatment.

    Rare herbs found in India and China have been used to develop medicines to cure heart diseases. A lot of research has already been done and it is a continuous process in many countries like India to develop cardiovascular herbal medicine.
